ANALYSIS OF T BEAM BRIDGE SUPPORTED ON PILE FOUNDATION CONSIDERING SOIL STRUCTURE INTERACTION

Abstract

This research paper presents a comprehensive analysis of T-beam bridges supported on pile foundations, with a particular emphasis on considering the interactions between the Pile and the underlying soil. The study employs advanced structural and geotechnical engineering methodologies to investigate the dynamic behaviour and performance of T-beam bridges subjected to various loading conditions. The analysis begins by characterizing the soil properties through extensive geotechnical investigations, encompassing parameters such as soil type, density, and Coefficient of Subgrade Reaction.

The paper uses advanced computational models and simulations to analyze bridge-soil interactions, including settlement, lateral earth pressure, and pile-soil interaction under various loading scenarios

The methodology adopted for this project consists three major steps. Initially we modelled T beam bridge using midas civil software. Then we analysis the bridge with fixed base condition and flexible base condition with considering various IRC loading. Finally, we compare the analytical results of fixed base condition and flexible base condition.

We observed that SSI need to be consider especially when the bridge resting on pile foundation. We observed that bending moment to be maximum increased by 14.48%, deflection will be maximum increased almost 37.43% and shear force will be maximum increased almost 11.3% when we applied SSI.
