Abstract. This article contains information about the role of the first Uzbek professor Abdurauf Fitrat in the development of Uzbek music culture, in particular, his views as an art critic. Also, in the article, Shashmaqom, which has gained priority in Uzbek music culture, is notated for the first-time opinions are also expressed regarding the processes.
