EFFECT OF DIFFERENT POSITIONS OF STAIRCASE ON SEISMIC PERFORMANCE OF RCC BUILDING

Abstract:

This research aims to enhance the seismic performance of buildings by optimizing the position and design of staircases. The study’s primary objectives are to identify the optimal location for staircases to improve seismic resilience, examine the effectiveness of staircase designs across buildings of varying heights, and analyze the torsional eccentricities that arise from different staircase placements. The research will employ the response spectrum method of seismic analysis across multiple building models to assess key seismic parameters, including time period, displacement, and storey drift. This methodological approach will enable the identification of the most effective staircase configurations and placements to mitigate seismic risks, ultimately contributing to the development of safer, more resilient building designs.
